Our local Humane Society had a raffle at a fund raiser.  I donated a prize of a portrait to one of the winners.   Hope they are pleased.

From a Plein air sketch.  I loved the clean brilliant light and freshness of the scene.  I could feel the dew on the grass.

Colors have become richer.  Multiple layers of pencil, watercolor, tinted acrylic medium are repeated many times.  I like the effects of the pencils crosshatch.  My favorite technique.

As I continue my exploration of a new media combination,  the resulting color mixtures are so rich because of the multiple layers of pencil and warercolor.

I've discovered mixed media!  So many new possibilities to be experimented with.  I love the the contrast of opaque and transparency.  I used my Prismacolor pencils which have been lying dormant for years.  Layers upon layers make for such richness of color.   More to come!

I'm painting a series based on old family photos.  It's a challenge to "colorize" black and white photos.  This was  me at about seven years old.  Dressed up in my Sunday best.  Painting white is fun and a challenge because of its subtlety.
